Tissue Box May Day Basket
What You'll Need:
- 1 Tissue or Kleenex box
- Construction Paper
- Scotch Tape
- Yarn or Ribbon
- Markers or Crayons
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
- Be sure to remove all the extra kleenex out of your box. Use a pair of scissors to cut out the top of your box.
- Use the construction paper and tape to cover the box. It's kind of like wrapping a present. You can even use wrapping paper if you want.
- Have your kids decorate the boxes with crayons, markers, or paint.
- Punch two holes on opposite sides of the box, 1/2" from the top edge. Thread ribbon or yarn through the holes to create a basket handle. Knot ribbon so that it cannot slip through the holes...now you have a handle!
- Fill your baskets with fun spring time goodies like petals, herbs, small candies, and of course flowers! You can use real flowers or try our fun Yarn Flowers.
Fun Tip: You can use scrap fabric and fun pictures cut from magazines to decorate your baskets. Just use a lot of Elmers glue for the fabric and it'll stick right to the construction paper. We made a fun patchwork basket!
