Time to start back into the school year and the best way to introduce curriculum is to disguise it as Art! Get all of your homeschoolers involved with these fun and creative activities... .

  • The Power of Estimation! Estimation and guess work are an important aspect of math adn science. Help your homeschooler master these skills using questions like the ones below.

    What you'll need:
    Marbles in a small bowl
    Hammer, nails, and a block of wood
    A timer
    Large pitcher of water
    Building Blocks

    Use the materials you have to help your homeschoolers estimate and find the answers to the questions below:

    • How many cups of water do you think is in the large pitcher right now?
    • How many times will you have to hit the nail with the hammer before it's completely in the wood?
    • How many marbles do you think are in that bowl?
    • How many marbles will it take to make 1 cup?
    • How many blocks can you stack before the tower will fall?
    • Using the timmer, how long do you think it will take to hammer the nail into the wood?
    • Using the timmer, how long you think it'll take to stack 20 blocks?
    • How many steps will it take to make it to make it to the mailbox?
    • How many steps will it take to make it to make it to your bedroom?

    After everyone has estimated have fun finding out the truth!
