- Pin Wheels This can just be a fun activity on a rainy day.
What you'll need:
Colored paper
Pins
Straws or small sticks
Draw spuares onto the paper and have your homeschoolers cut them out.You can spend a little time talking about the differences between squares and rectangles while you're doing this. Next, help your kids draw four lines with a ruler from each corner of the square to almost the middle of the square. Then cut these lines. Be careful not to cut all the way to the middle only about 4/6 of the way.
Bring the outside of all the corners to the middle and secure it with a pin. Then secure the pin to the stick or straw. All you have to do now is add some wind and off they spin!
