Scavenger Hunt! This is a fun activity that will chalenge your homeschoolers' brain power and make them laugh!

What you'll need:
A sheet of paper
Pen
A little free time!

While your kids are busy with a worksheet or eating breakfast walk around your house and write down random things you see. To give your older homeschoolers a challenge you'll need to have to get a little more creative. After you get a list ready that will keep them busy for awhile. Sit down and write clues that will help them guess what the items are. Here's an example:

  1. Baseball in the closet.
Hint: "I'm small and round. When I'm around you can't help but eat hotdogs and hope for homeruns!"

  2. Blue Sock on the Dryer.
Hint: "I always come in a pair. I'm the color of the ocean. You can find me alone and without my mate next to the lint filter."

Obviously these examples are for your older homeschoolers, but you get the idea. I even hid the words in a wordsearch once! This is also a great activity for Dad to do after the kids are asleep. You can do it together and leave it on the table for the kids to find. This can also be a great bribe to be sure their school work gets done!
