Halloween Tarts Anyone?
![]() |
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook time: as long as your kids are having fun!
What You'll Need:
Pre-made dough (I like Pillsbury, but any other brand will do)
Small tin pie plates
Pre-made mini graham cracker crusts
Pudding
Food coloring
Assorted candies
- Pre-heat your oven to 375°.
- Cut circles out of the pre-made dough to fit into your small pie plates (you should be able to make 2 pies per sheet of dough & the left over dough can be rolled out and used again). Place the dough into small greased pie dishes. Prick the dough with a fork. You can crimp the edge of your crust with the tines of a fork or use your fingers to flute the edge. Bake the crusts in a pre-heated oven for about 10 minutes. Pre-made mini graham cracker crusts work well for this recipe, too, and you don't even need to bake them!
- Arrange candies and puddings in bowls on the counter so your kids can invent their tart creations. Here are some of our favorite candies and puddings:
- Chocolate & vanilla pudding
- Vanilla pudding colored with food coloring (orange, green, or red are all good colors)
- Candy corn
- Chocolate chips
- Peanut butter chips
- Black licorice
- Gummy worms
- Mini marshmallows
- Grated coconut
- Cinnamon candies
- Graham cracker crumbs
- Here's where the fun (and the party) starts! Have your kids choose a pudding to fill their tarts, and then decorate with the candies! So easy!
- Here are some tart ideas:
- Cut licorice into long spider legs and use candy corn as a spider body
- Top the pudding with graham cracker crumbs (dirt) and squirmy gummy worms
- Fill the tart with orange pudding then use candy corn or chocolate chips to design a jack-o-lantern face
- Cut licorice into long spider legs and use candy corn as a spider body
- And that's it! No more baking (since you've already baked the crust). The tarts are ready to eat as soon as they're decorated!
