My Christmas Present
I asked my son to do a quick paper on Christmas. I told him that anything he wanted to write about is fine, just to be sure that it was at least 2 pages typed and not to forget references as to where he got the information. I agreed to let him do his own thing and not to bug him about it... his due date was one week. I kept my promise and one week later I got the best paper I had ever seen from him. It was detailed and included more topics than I could've dreamed. Honestly, there were things in it even I didn't know and I was worried the work wasn't his at first. The only thing missing were his references. He had never cheated in the past, but let's face it - kids go thru phases...
I carefully asked him about the missing references and he laughed and said "I knew you would notice that part. I got it all from Wikipedia."
Easy & Free Homeschool Curriculum...
Wiki-What? Well, all of my questions were soon aswered because my son had conveniently saved Wikipwedia in our favorites. I soon discovered that it is the free online encyclopedia. He learned about it from a friend and had just skipped the time-consuming web searches and went straight to the point. I'm so excited about this resource I actually asked Homeschool Views to let me write this article. I know it's crazy, but take a minute and look at one of the searches I did...

Look at this as curriculum for your kids! There are no catches or email addresses required... it's just great information at your finger tips with no pop-ups or banner advertisments. I hope that you get as much use out of this as I have and will. Wikipedia is free, easy to use, advertisement free, and full of great information. What more can I say except Happy Holidays and...
